Customer Service Phone Tips

If you have business, one important thing you should offer your customers is good customer service. Customer service can make or break your business! I know many already know this but they do not steps to provide this to their customers.

Customer Service Phone Tips-
*Answer the phone and say your company's name in a friendly manner.

*Do not make the customer feel as though they are interrupting you and that you do not want to help them!

*Be sincere when talking to the customer-customers can tell if you do or don't want to help them.

*If you are unsure as to what the customer wants, ask questions!

*Do not rush the customer off of the phone-if the customer is telling you their life story this is different!

*Ask if the customers has any questions about the services or products you have to offer-you want the customer to feel confident in your business!

*If at the time you cannot help the customer, take their information (name, phone number) and offer to call them back once you have an answer to their question.

*When closing the call, thank the customer for calling!

Tips on what not to do-

*Answer the phone only saying "hello".

*Talk to other people while talking to the customer-place the customer on hold if you have to talk to someone else.

*Place a customer on hold and forget about them (Yes, this has happened to me!)

*Make the customer feel like they are interrupting.

*Don't make the customer feel as an "idiot"! Customers do not know everything and this may be why they are calling you!

*Make sure the call is finished, don't just hang up!

While customers can be a pain to deal with (this is another topic) you need customers if you want your business to thrive.
